This presentation describes methods to extract and analyze data on immuno-oncology research trials from ClinicalTrials.gov. A long and ever-expanding list of search terms is needed to cast the widest possible net for all immuno-oncology studies requires. This reflects the evolution of traditional immuno-therapies (checkpoint inhibitors; cellular therapies) and the emergence of new types of targeted therapies (Bacillus Calmette-Guerin for bladder cancer; microbiome; antigen therapy; T-cell therapy; etc.). We present a series of graphical displays illustrating the evolution of immuno-oncology clinical trials. Clinical trials using immuno-therapies for solid tumors, breast cancer, and prostate cancer are highlighted. Our goal is to promote greater awareness of developments in immuno-oncology research, and opportunities to participate in clinical trials.
